January 15, 2018January 15, 2018 Mary Zambello

With the new year comes new year’s resolutions. A lot of people go with the typical: eat healthy, get back to the gym, drink less wine, etc. etc. My goal, living in Maine, is to take advantage of each and … Continue reading Early Morning Frost Bite

Sun Setting over the Height of Land

October 9, 2017October 9, 2017 Mary Zambello

It was perfect timing. I had left work a little early, hoping to catch a glimpse of the fall foliage over the Height of Land, in northern Maine. I was heading to my camp, on Kennebago Lake, for the last … Continue reading Sun Setting over the Height of Land

Abaco Island, Bahamas

April 18, 2017April 18, 2017 Mary Zambello

March: the month when winter starts to feel long, when the white blanket that coats the ground is no longer majestic, but an inconvenience, and your skin looks like it hasn’t felt the warm kiss of the sun in quite some … Continue reading Abaco Island, Bahamas

The weather reports were in, and New England was about to get blasted with upwards of two feet of snow. With Winter Storm Niko having just come in a few days before, and another storm lingering on the horizon, people were out in … Continue reading Blizzard Orson Blasts New England

Gardens Aglow

December 23, 2016January 3, 2017 Mary Zambello

We kept an eye on the weather for Thursday night all week. What was originally meant to be a cold, wet, and wintery mix turned into a clear night, hovering right around freezing. As we bundled up in layers, we … Continue reading Gardens Aglow

4:17pm – Sunset

November 14, 2016November 14, 2016 Mary Zambello

Still getting used to daylight savings and the sun starting to go down around 4pm. With only a few more weeks left of fall weather and after recent events, I’ve made it a goal to get outdoors and enjoy the … Continue reading 4:17pm – Sunset

Hometown Glory

October 25, 2016October 26, 2016 Mary Zambello

You don’t always have to go out of your way to find beauty in nature. I couldn’t help but stop my car and snap a shot of this scene, which was simply at the bottom of my driveway in my hometown. Continue reading Hometown Glory

Sun, Leaves, and 70 Degrees

October 18, 2016October 18, 2016 Mary Zambello

I knew this past weekend may be the only weekend left to get outdoors and see the fall leaves at their peak. Mother Nature must have known my plans, and decided to grant me the most spectacular fall weather, with … Continue reading Sun, Leaves, and 70 Degrees

Maine’s Height of Land

October 4, 2016 Mary Zambello

There’s no official sign to mark this spot but you’ll know it when you’re there. Driving north along Maine State Route 17, after winding up through the maintains, you reach an opening that drops off to the west. As you sit atop Spruce Mountain, in … Continue reading Maine’s Height of Land

September 26, 2016September 26, 2016 Mary Zambello

It was the last weekend at camp, and the first weekend of fall. As I woke up for a glass of water around 6 a.m., I couldn’t help but notice a soft glow coming through the window. In the brisk … Continue reading Sunrise on Kennebago Lake

Summer Colors on Green Lake

August 25, 2016August 25, 2016 Mary Zambello

2016 has definitely been the summer of sunsets. We couldn’t help but jump onto our pontoon boat on Green Lake in Ellsworth, Maine to take in the pinks, golds, and purples.   Continue reading Summer Colors on Green Lake
