Angels in the Carribbean

This is an early photo I took during my first trip to the Dry Tortugas.  I was overwhelmed with how busy the sooty tern colony was; I was constantly looking up at the sky at all of these birds illuminated by the midday sun.  I was finally able to capture a single individual in mid-flight on camera, and to me, it looks like the individual is bathed in a halo of light that reminded me of an angel.  I’ll be going back to the island in a few months, and I couldn’t be more excited to visit this heaven on Earth.
