Autumn on Monument Mountain

Nothing beats New England in the fall. This photograph was taken on a hike up Monument Mountain in western Massachusetts in October 2015. I love the contrast in this picture between the dark white birch tree and bright orange and green leaves in the background. The hike up to Squaw Peak (1600 ft) was really stunning. After a moderate incline up the trail and through the dark tree cover you emerge at the knife-edge summit and get a great view of miles of fall foliage.
