This photograph was taken while hiking up New Hampshire’s Mt. Lafayette along the Old Bridle Path in August 2015. The White Mountains have plenty of strenuous, but gorgeous hikes. The elevation of this summit was 5200 ft, part of the Franconia Range. I always look for that first hint of autumn toward the end of August in New England. This little leaf marked that transition. The views at the summit of Mt. Lafayette are worth the hike!
