Rarely can you get this close to a bird of prey. As much as these youngsters look like adult Osprey, it seemed they had not yet fledged, and sat in a huge stick nest constructed by their parents, waiting for mom or dad to return home with a meal. In First Landing State Park in Virginia, they watched boaters pass by with piercing stares.
Stephanie works in environmental research in the Triangle region of North Carolina following graduation from the master of environmental management program at Duke University.
