As part of my PhD research at Duke University, I examine the link between biodiversity and the geosphere through the fossil records. This means I get to travel along the Amazon river during my field season to look for fossils. During my latest trip, I was staying in an indigenous village deep in the Manu Rainforest Preserve. This photo was taken one morning at sunrise along the Rio Palotoa in Peru.
That is an absolutely stunning photo – Seriously nice shot!
